Opalis Integration Server 5.0 includes new integration packs with pre-defined objects for monitoring applications, service desk packages, data protection software, and provisioning solutions. New packs are available for BMC Patrol, EMC SMARTS InCharge, HP Service Desk, and VMware VirtualCenter. The platform promises more granularity and flexibility than earlier versions, with scalable failover and automatic load balancing.
The platform is designed to be relatively easy to use, relying on a graphical interface for system administrators to use to define data center policies. Opalis Integration Service boasts a full set of capabilities for integrating management tools and procedures without requiring programming. Opalis, which claims over 550 global customers, says that within hours of set up, clients can have a full-functioning prototype in place.
Opalis is also delivering new Web-based reporting and dashboards for delivering both forecasts and historical reports. Opalis Integration Server 5.0, which will ship in November, starts in the $50,000-$100,000 range.
